Double liquid 28% rate on outside shanks?

On a liquid 28 applicator do the outside two shanks have to apply twice as much, for example 7 shank in 8 rows? I know some guys just run their anhydrous the same on all 11 knives for 12 rows and skip a row and the Nitrogen moves around enough in the field it works out ok. Is 28% the same?

My neighbor uses 17 knives to put on his anhydrous, behind a 16 row planter. He has the two end knives cut back to one half of of the other 15. We Just have a 6 row planter and we just pull 3 knives on every other row. We run two hoses to each knife. Seems to work ok. We are within 15 inches of every plant. We fertilized our corn with 200lb-18-46-0,nitrogen and phosphate. 200lb-0-0-60 potash and 100 lb, of 34-0-0 nitrogen. So we spread 70 pound of actual N. Then 100 to 125 pound of anhydrous.

Running 11 knifes on 12 rows you will see a slight difference in the outside 2 rows. With NH# and 28%.

I watched this for years and decide to up the orifice size by 1/8 for the outside two injectors on my 28% applicator. In other words I am putting on 25 gallons per acre on the center 9 knifes and around 28 gallons or so on the outside 2 knifes

That eliminated the slight color and height difference in the outside 2 rows.

Does it yield better now, I don"t know but looks evener.
