Say Animal!

Have you ever planted into rolled and crimped cover crops? Trying to learn if this would work for me here with our vegetable operation.
Steve Groff does this each year, but never says what make and model planter, grain drill or transplanter he uses. Just says they have to be heavy enough to cut through the debris. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Yes, I have done that, I use a 7200 JD planter with the Yetter wavy coulters and I have planted into standing cereal rye and then rolled, it all depends on how dense the cover crop is, for instance at one bpa of rye I planted into it, at two bpa I rolled and then planted.
