quick growing forage crop

Is there a quick growing forage crop to plant now that would be ready to harvest before we are likely to get snow? Looking for something I can disc and roll into corn fields once chopped. Planning on good frost around the beginning of November. I'd like to harvest for silage bales. I'm located in eastern MA

Could try a mix of field pea with german millet. Sorghum Sudan grass is another good forage crop but I don"t think you"ll see the heat needed for good growth. Field pea with millet would also be pretty cheap so incase it doesn"t work you"r not out too much coin. winter rye would also work but you"d have a crop next year you"d either have to plow down, harvest or spray to kill.

I'll second the millet. You don't need to wait for maturity to bale. Real popular around here when corn gets chopped or a crop gets hailed out. Some guys are starting to experiment with field peas and radish but I don't know much about that.

I just seeded some oats last week. Suppose to be for late season grazing. But we have gotten no rain, so not sure how its going to work out. Not sure how long until it snows there?
