Earlier I posted about my speltz experiment being too weedy to bind and no combines around locally. So I round baled the field. It's a mixture of speltz straw, some speltz grains I'm sure and a lot of sweet and red clover mixed with some grasses and weeds. Looking at it in my hands, it's decent looking stuff. I'm pretty sure the sheep will do well on it. Not the way I wanted it to end up, but the failure of the stand was due to an improperly set drill. The speltz itself did great and I intend to plant more for next year.
