Wall covering suggestions

Hi
I am trying to set up an area for processing poultry, I am currently using an open sided lean to off the end of my garage. I want to close it in and use it to process small scale for the public. What should i use on the walls and ceiling that can be cleaned easy? I want to do it right but not break the bank. Any and all thoughts appreciated,
thanks

I just redid the shower enclosure above the tub in the bathroom with a plastic coated masonite sheet I got from Home Depot. They also have just sheets of some kind of plastic that you glue to the wall board. Seems like either type was around twenty five dollars for a 4x8 sheet. They told me to use the plastic stuff but the tub had had the masonite so that was what I replaced it with. I would imagine Lowes would carry the same stuff or any lumber yard.

Fiberglass reinforced panels of FRB for short.they use this in
restaurants as it cleans very easily.

Since you mention "to process for the public" I'd give the Extension Agent a call. You pay those folks from Orono - make use of them.

If intended for public processing, don"t you have to deal with the State health dept. and follow their rules?

Yup, just got off the phone with the State, just for custom processing, not for resale meats or anything would be very costly. Separate septic, and a whole lot more. Was just looking to do 500 or so birds a year to pay taxes etc. Thanks for the replies.

The folks that process mine have a slick setup. They get damaged garage doors from some factory and put the sections on end. The screw them together and they have an insulated and sound deadening wall. I was pretty impressed. Apparently they truck them in from out of state - the guy said if I wanted any to let him know. They get them very cheap. I couldn't see any defects of any kind either.

You will have to go by state rules. It will cost you more than you can ever make from small scale.Have you been watching the problems raw milk sellers are having in Maine. You will have problems with the offal from cleaning poultry.Maine is no longer a free state.Been here for 45 years.
