Where are the blackberries and raspberries?

Curious if any of you are finding out if wild berries like raspberries, blackberries, thimbleberries and and dew berries are getting scarce in your areas. I am in Southeast Michigan and I remember as a kid being able to go out and pick buckets of them and freezing them for winter. Now it is tough to go out and pick a few hand fulls. One guy I lease a farm from says it is all the multi-flora rose and autumn olive displacing them.

Got lots and lots of Black berry plants here on my place. Wild rasp berries also

Picked a few quarts of black raspberries about a month ago. A few are still coming on, but lots dried up during the dry spell. Looks like lots of dew berries too. I plan to pick them this year and then spray them this fall. I have way too many.

Perfect spring and summer for fruit trees here. My two type of cherries just harvested, Apricots ready in about three days. Plum bushes are loaded, apples galore. Buffalo berries were below average.

We have a lot of wild black raspberries and they had some size to them this year. What we don't see around here anymore is wild strawberries and Dew berries.

The raspberries are past here and the blackberries are just about ripe. I think in our area the deciding factor in low wild berry numbers is that he old fields are either grown up or bought by a BTO and all the berries are sprayed. We don't see the wild apple trees here so much either.

Raspberries are peaking, blackberries are just starting.

Don't know autumn olive, but I know and hate MF rose, and it does compete for the same territory blackberries like. I fight it on a regular basis. I think it was popular for erosion control decades ago, but otherwise has no redeeming qualities, and there are less obnoxious things that will control erosion.

Hear in SW Ohio I have been picking wild black berries for the last 2 weeks and have 65 quarts in the freezer and have a lot that are still small and red and have a long way to go. I would say I have another 2 or 3 weeks of picking to do. My raspberries came and went in 4 days this year witch is odd for around here. To tell you the truth I wish someone would come and start picking them my arms look like a wild cat got a hold of them. These blackberries seam to be doing quite well with the multi-flora roses and wild grape vines and the kudzoo lookin vines. Bandit

Here in WPA all berries etc. are greatly diminished. What open space is left is either tilled road ditch to road ditch, grown up woods, or grass lawns.
I"ve picked all I want but that is only because we bought a vacant farm 10 years ago and manage it like the old days.
