What strange weather for late July

This is such a contrast to the past two summers when we baked under the heat. Today's high temperature here in central Kansas was a chilly (considering the calendar, at least) 63 degrees and it rained off and on the whole day. We're received over 6 inches of rain so far this month and some areas around here have picked up even more. It is sure good to see a green summer again after two years of drought.

I have seen wet years and I have seen dry years. I do not know what strange weather is. It is what it is. I remember as a kid we would dig for a corner post and water would seep in 20 inches or so down. That was in dry times. Lately we have dug three foot down and see very little if any moisture. What is normal?
