used this baler for 9 yrs. now. Had to do out door storage last yr. so i took off the belts. Put them back on , got them all the same lenghth but now when I bale the 2 outside belts go loose as the bale builds. Yes I weave on the windrow to feed it evenly. I am wondering tho if the front springs need to be adjusted for tension...? We have had a variety of issues & had to adjust several other things, I don't have the owner manual....yet.... so i don't know what parts should be set at.... we bought it used......

Get thee to a Hesston dealer and get a manual. Probably when you changed the belts you got the middle belts on the outside. The more centered belts stretch more than the outside belts You can shorten them or you can try adjusting the belt tension which isn't done by the springs at all. It's those 2 bolts with lock nuts that the frame rests on up at the front of the baler. You lower those and it allows the belts to run tighter. I don't think that's going to help you much though. Probably the best thing to do is to take all the belts off, cut them all to 452" and start over. This of course requires relacing them, dutchmen, etc.

Rereading your post you say you already have them same length. This doesn't make sense. Are you sure they all measure out the same length? 452" is what the book calls for, but I think thats a little long for some balers.

You say you weave on the windrow, but are you staying on one side long enough to get the belt tight? Takes a lot of hay to fill the ends.
