As I use this gal more and more I am developing more data.
Monday pulling a 10 foot IH 990 discbine ,l 2200 rpm, mowed 5.5 acres of HEAVY alfalfa and OG. Mostly 2 range 4 gear. Used 7 gals fuel. For a 1.27 gals per ac. How's that compare to your tractor?
Any using a smaller modern Farmall as in a 80. 60 or 45?

Not a small tractor, but with our new this spring MF 9670 self propelled 13ft disc mower we get between 1.9 in heavy rye or grass to, in decent third cut alfalfa 13 acre field, 3 acres per gallon.

How many hrs or minutes did it take to mow this 5.5 acres??

My Kubota M7040(65 pto hp) uses 1.7 GPH of fuel to pull a 9 ft disc mower cutting grass hay. Cutting a little over 4 acres per hr that's about .5 gallon of fuel per acre.

I didn't record the time. I will do that on the next cut. I have a couple larger fields and I will do some calculations on them. They should be a little better as they are dead flat fields. And the fields are 1/2 mile long, no turns.
