Oats and Corn

I flushed a clutch of turkeys from this patch of oats when I went to take pictures. Corn is shoulder high; I'm 5'-8". Not bad for a food plot guy. Ran a young rabbit through the corn this morning--well the dogs did. I thought the deer would eat more oats when it was small, but they didn't. Cowpeas seem more to their liking. Just wish we had quail.

Gordo;

I disced in 50#s of 12-12-12 and 50#s of urea before I planted. It's about 1/3 acre. I side dressed some of the poorer stuff by hand last week. Last year this plot was a mix of crimson clover, winter peas and wheat. Also had a pretty good crop of vetch. Ground is a little heavier than most of my plots. Timely rain and warm nights has definitely helped. Seems like it's grown a foot or two a week since it got warm.
