Deutz Fahr KH40 Tedder

I picked up a deutz fahr KH40 Tedder this week that had the third basket broken off. The drive ear on the end was sheared off. It dosent look to difficult to machine another ear drive. What does everything think about these tedders and does anyone have a book for one of them? Thanks everybody
 
If it is the same as my Fahr KH40 Centipede (2 speed). They are a nice tedder for the age. I think I have a book, if I do I can scan and send you a copy.. Most all the roll pins are metric and from what I've found anything not common is very difficult to find....
 
Thanks this one is the centipede as well, how does the two speed in it work I haven't come across that yet. It would be great if you could send a copy of the manual, I would really appreciate it. I had a question on the main gear box, it looks like this one has been completely packed with grease, is this correct? Or should it have gear oil in it? Thanks very much
 
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I haven't been able to find a manual (thought I had one, will keep looking). Mine has gear oil in the main gear box, only the stars have grease. The two speed works just by swapping the pto shaft to the other stub shaft, from what I was told it slows the basket speed by half for more delicate crops (I never needed to use it). As of this afternoon mine is out of commission, my LH outer basket drive shaft sheared where the drive pin is... A lot of money later I just got done uncrating and assembling a new Stirex...

I did some more digging and found a Fahr owners manual but it is for a KH400. I also found 4 or 5 pages for the KH40 showing the breakdown for the spinner heads and shafts (actually sent to me from another user on this site about 10 yrs ago!). Let me know if you'd like me to send them to you.
