Small Square vs Big Square

Does anyone have a guess as to how many small square hay bales would be in a big square hay bale that is 6ft long, 3 ft high and 2.5 ft wide? I have no ability to weigh the bales. I normally bale small squares but do to weather I had to go to big squares.

I'd guess about 8 on volume, but if they are more compressed, that won't be right.

A "3x3" (actual width of 32") dry hay bale eight feet long typically weighs about 1000 lbs. So, a six footer would be around 750 lbs.
