12.3 tons from 5.5 acres, or 2.23 T/A of grass and alfalfa around the house.
Spread some P&K Monday

Just curious about the area of Texas where you can't grow alfalfa, do you mean you can"t grow it without irrigation? There are plenty of root rot and salt resistant varieties available these days, alfalfas grown all over the southeast and southwest, I grow it in Louisiana and it is the number one forage crop in the middle east, where it originated from.

Gordo do ya fight blister bugs in your alfalfa?? got some guys here just south of paradise who grow alfalfa and they round bale it cause they said the blister bugs wont hurt cows.

Wouldn't be summer without a 4-8 day heat wave of 100 plus temps. I put myself through college working bridge construction for PK&S and there was no worse day than those. Straight from the bridge to the nearest beer garden, from there to bed and back to the bridge. We loved it. The money was fabulous. I made more than my Dad as a 19 year old.

Weevils some years. Alfalfa caterpillars were in this cut but they were in the larve stage and toast now.
