Sometimes things just work out

When I was tedding/raking the 8 acres of hay in my out pasture I got to looking at a wet spot that I had tiled about 12 years ago. It had grown up with rushes and was maybe 3/4 acre and a pain because it was right in the middle of the hayfield.
Now I live in a metro area and decided a small grass fire might not be too bad so I lit it off.
Burned fast and I had raked a circle around it out from the fire, called my son and asked him to bring the 12' disc out. I knew that somebody from the nearby townhomes would call as soon as they saw smoke, so when I saw flashing lights through the trees a 1/2 mile out, I had the Son start disking Time two of the fire guys walked in, they said somebody must have mistaken the dust for smoke...today I'm drilling in some more orchard grass!

Hay Larry , That is very good thinking and planning. I would of never thought of that. have you got something planned for the next" burn off? " clint

Naw Clint, this afternoon didn't work out quite as good. First load of horse manure and the apron chain broke, least it was almost empty when it broke.
