Neighbor asked me to plant three little corn plots for him. Would pay $50/hr whatever showed on the tractor meter so I said OK. Topped off the tank to the lip. Drove 7 road miles over there, planted with a 4 row conservation JD 7000, drove home. 2.3 hrs on the meter. Added 2.1 gals of diesel. It's a 90hp Farmall intercooled Turbo 4 banger. First liar have a chance of winning this one?
LESS than a gallon an hour?

Actually, that's a lot of hp for a 4 row.

Pulled my 4 row 7000, granular starter, with my 27 hp New Holland 1720 one year. Had to drive a little slow, and the hitch was too low, and got the best stand of corn I ever had.....

Pulled the 6 row this year with the Ford 5000, worked great, 60 hp I guess.

Good mileage you got tho, nice.

All I'm going to state is boy Nebraska testing sure screwed their test up on this model. Drawbar fuel use (max): 5.1 gal/hour [19.3 l/hour]

I see they did some pulling in H-2. I used M-3 for the planting (1.5 hrs) and H-4 for the road
portion. 1500 rpm planting which is just a high idle.

I heard on the radio that Zetor had the most fuel efficient tractor on the planet. Maybe you have a re-badged Zetor. The 2 tractors colors Vaguely resemble each other.

I believe you. Had a similar deal a few years back. I used to own a 7700 ford, 4 cylinder turbo diesel. I always knew it was easy on fuel but never actually checked. Neighbor one year hired me to do his 15 acres of alfalfa. I cut and raked with the ford. Filled before I went over and filled when when I was done. Figured out to right at a gallon an hour.

I had a case david brown 995. I bought it with a broken crank shaft. I drained 3 5 gal buckets of fuel out. I fixed it and dumped 1 bucket back in and drove it around for a while. I dumped in another 5 gallon bucket and disked 5 acres and tried a little chisel plow that didn't work very good. Then I sold it and still have a 5 gallon bucket of fuel from it. I did a lot of joy riding too and it the level never dropped in the tank from what I could tell.
