Mow rake and bale

The way we have always done it down here is the land owner gets 1/3 and the guy doing the work gets 2/3s. If the land owner wants to keep the hay he pays going price for the 2/3s of it

I was charging $15 per bale to mow rake and bale,,but nthis year it is going up, just dont know how much yet. and that was for a next door neighbor too didnt have to drive far.

Yes but it also cost a lot to cut, rake and bale it up. Machines do not run them self's and at almost $4 a gal for fuel the cost of doing hay is high

We looked on the Mo. site, looked like we needed to charge 18.00. We charged 15.00 last year for a 4X5 rolled pretty tite.

I am thinking like Eldo at 20. Their is not a one of these guys going to town with you when you need parts, and man has all this stuff gotten high!

MSU has a custom rate chart they come out with every year. Going off a foggy memory here, but cutting was 15/acre, raking 7/acre, and small squares were .80/bale. I don't recall what rounds were. They charge $10-$15/bale around here, depending on who you talk to just for baling.

I can buy hay cheaper than you charge to bale hay that the guy already owns. Must be the location difference. Around here custom balers get between fifty cents to a dollar per small square and three to five dollars per round bale. Or if a neighbor breaks down you just go in and bale it to help them out.

Guy I'm using is $2 per small square or he'll 50/50 split the crop. Didn't ask what he is for large squares.

$22.00 for 4x5 rounds netwrapped, 2.50 for small squares kicked out on the ground. With my own to do as well, I'm booked solid til at least mid July if we get a break in the weather.
