I traveled from Mid-Michigan to Arkansas and back last week. I feel sorry for the farmers in Illinois and Missouri. While spending the night in Sikeston, Mo., the local news said that eastern Illinois and western Missouri only had 17% of their corn planted. I believe it. Water everywhere. Arkansas don't look much better. And it was raining hard there when I left.

Ya some areas of Missouri have to much rain and others like where I am could really use a good bit more about now. If it doesn't rain here later today I will have to finish planting my garden then turn on the sprinkler tonight

We managed to get all our corn planted in the one week window, we have 500 acres of corn in Illinois, it started raining before we got any beans planted. I dumped 2 and 8 tenths out of the gauge this morning

I'll tell you what! I've got all of about 10 acres of corn mudded in. And here I sit waiting for the rain to let up so I can do chores. If it quit raining right now and didn't start up again,it might dry out soon enough to finish planting in two weeks. I might end up chopping about all of it this year and piling it on the ground after the silo is full. Ear corn is gonna be scarce this fall around here. At some point,I'll have to forget about the corn and cut hay,but there ain't no way to ever get that dry at this rate either. It's a sickening situation.

Been busy as all getout round here. Only got 5 acres of corn to put in. Finally got ground worked sat. night. Made a run to PA. sunday. Got back Mon. 9 am. Decide to go to the big flea market with the wife. Ended up spending the day. Got home bout 6, run the drag over the ground real quick before planting. Wife had dinner ready so set down to eat. Never got back outside. Now weatherman says rain 4 more days. Oh well, got to spend the Marsha. First time in more than a month. Headed back to PA. in bout an hour. Ya"ll keep safe. It may be wet but least nobodys dying.
