Here the 34 would be about right.

Depends on the moisture you get.

The 37 might be a little weak stemmed, and might be smaller ears, but is not horrible.

Don't feel alone, over on the big farmer discussion site a few have been mentioning they goofed too, up to 47,000 pop, on a few more acres than you did. Your 37 has a chance, 47 is for sure a problem.....

So you are in good company. Call it a population field trial, and it becomes a feature, not a problem. ;)

Before planting a field , always drop the planter move 30 feet and do a seed check. Check seed distance, skips, and every row working. The go back to the planter and fix all your mistakes.
I try to do it in the approach where the ground is really hard and the seeds are not very deep.

Depends on your part of country but in our area we set the planters around 34K for maximum yields.New seed corns adapt and if the population is too high there will be some barren stalks.Seed corn companies push for higher population of course they are selling.

Big mistake on a small area = small mistake.Small mistake on a big area = big mistake.Add some extra fertilizer and hope for a good season.I would watch this plot and see what can be learned.Try to think of this as an educational oportunity.

We planted two hybrids in the 32,500 range, another two in the 34,400 range and on closer to 36,000.

Depending on your area I don't see that "mistake" as a huge mistake.
