am doing some mowing with a John Deere 5303 tractor and a n MX7 JD cutter, having a hard time getting a clean cut across the whole width of the mower. Running in B-1 seems to work best but is painfully slow -this is a new mower- never had this issue with the old mod 306 bushhog mower - anyone else had this problem? It is level side to side and just a bit lower in the front. kj

Howe long since blades were sharpened? I just did mine on a Woods 7 foot Brush Bull and it made a huge difference. Even made a sound like a jet engine instead of a model A.
Oh. and taking out a 6-7 degree bend in the inner shaft helped a lot also. A little preventative maint before the thing went postal

new mower this spring, can already tell it isn't nearly the mower that the old bushhog was

check to see if the blades are mounted corectly

Unless I overlooked something JD only offered suction type blades on a MX7. I agree check the blades for correct mounting. I also suggest marking slip clutch to be sure it isn't slipping.
