Nothing looks more like spring to me than when the fertilizer Buggies show up!
My Son, Chris ran the buggies while I top-seeded our pasture and 27 acre hayfield. Nice day today, in the 70's. Lot's of wet spots, but rain makes hay. Hope You all had as good a day.

A tenth of rain and 70-80 degree temperatures got the fertilizer kickin in, I haven"t seen my hay jump higher like this in a long time.

Did the same as you spreading fert,my only problem was i did it before we got all that flooding ,wash out rain.i'am afraid its all down in the marsh now. I have a question when you say topseeded your pastures, did you plant a grass of sometype? I have some winter kill in my hay fields half grass half alafafa was wondering how i could plant some grasses in the killed spots with out working everything up?i swhould look up overseeding and see what kind of machine they use.i'am in lower se wi.thanks steve

Steve, I seeded 8 lbs of late orchard grass Into an old stand of timothy/alfalfa with my drill. Sunday when I started the alfalfa was just coming out of the crowns and the grasses were less than 4". I use my drill because I get a fair amount of the seed in the disc ruts and better chance for germination in my mind.???
