Planting Haygrazer, Sorgum Sudan grass, rates

I drill sudan grass at 35 pounds per acre and pearl millet at 25 pounds per acre.

I have been reading about Sorgum and I think it would grow here. I got a few packets of seed and thought I would plant a trial plot that I could make seed from if it looked promising. My wife heard that if cows eat it at a certain stage they will die, now she wont let me plant any in case the cows get in. Is this true? I know thy make Sudan hay and graze sorgum at a certain stage.

Only thing I can think of that might kill an animal consuming Sorghum is Prussic acid poisoning. PA is brought on by stress such as drought or freeze. PA will dissipate out of hay in about a month.

What im needing to know is how to set my cups underneath the box, and how to set the side plates in back of the box on a 1924 14 hole disc drill
