Finally it was dry enough to get into the feilds yesterday.

I was able to spray pre emerge weed control for soybeans on cornstalks.

There are a few getting some oats and seeding in and a little tillage work being done. Still plenty wet for tillage.

I should be able to get the rest of my bean spraying done today and hopefully reshape a couple of waterways and reseed them.

Neighbor that I plant for might want to plant today so that may delay some of my work.

I think it is too cold to plant but if he wants to plant his,I will.

You guys drying out enough to go yet?

Gary

I still have water standing in most of my fields, although with the sun and warmth you could almost see the clover growing. Of all things they are calling for rain and winter mix starting Wed, through next Sunday.

Yep roller coaster weather. The weather guesser says 83 here today then Wednesday night down to around 35 and Thursday rain and cold temps high around 45. Thursday night low around 34. Friday more rain and high around 50 or so and rain till Sunday. Old man winter just does not want to let go this year

I saw couple working ground this morning and one planting corn with 24 row JD planter. Still wet in several places around here though.

Ya I am mudding in bits of my garden. Have an area I want to plant sweet corn but it is flat out to wet to dick up at this time and more rain called for by the end of the week

Glad you are getting into the fields, Gary. I haven't seen any commercial corn planted in this area yet, but there probably is some 40 miles east where there are some large daries. Rumor has it that neighbor's pasture has been rented and the guy may plant corn, or maybe beans. His project was slowed down after his tractor and rotary mower caught fire and burned.

My corn in the garden is up about 5 inches and I have planted more, plus green beans and okra which are not up yet. We had 1.8 inches of rain over the week end and temperature in the 70s are forecast for the rest of the week, so maybe the second planting will pop up.

There are sites for every state that report the soil temps at various depths and various counties. We are just breaking 50, but with this cold front coming you had better wait. LARGE cold front coming out of high plains and moving SE we could have snow in the morning
But.. I was out mowing some food plots and it was DRY out there. Like july ground.
Sunflowers? Sorghum?
