Are you snowed under again? I think you ought to mossey on down here to Missery and see if we can plant corn out of a john boat....

I was typing that very thing here about 2 hours ago, and was proof reading it when the power went out.

Just tried putting a picture over in the tractor forum, don't think it took.

Been a tough week for a lot of people this week, so I count my blessings and should not complain.

But I am getting darn surly about this weather. Roads were one step away from closed, visibility terrible, we got 5 or more inches of very very wet snow with strong winds. Snowed from 10 am and still going now.

Cattle are unhappy, cats are nuts, and I'm not far behind.

Haven't seen anything green since October.

Now that the power is back. Sounds like a lot of people are getting a lot of flooding, that ain't good, causes a lot of problems.

Hope things are going better for you.

Well, somehow I doubled the pic now. That one critter kinda sums up the mood around here.

We did not get a lick of winter except for the cold, until the end of Feb. and it feels like its been six months long, I can not even imagine being in your shoes. As I get older I seem to have less tolerance for bad weather. The only good thing about this country is that it can change so much so fast that it is a constant surprise.....

We had such an exceptionally mild winter last year, I never really moved any snow, we had one 3 inch snow a d it melted away itself last year. That is just unheard of here, we are in the snow belt...

Paying for it this year, actually the snow banks have never been deep, sort of a mild winter, but very very long and a whole lot of ice this year.

We are fortunate the trees have not budded yet, these past 2 storms have been very tough on the evergreens, the regular trees would have been shredded if they had their typical new leaves for this time of year.

I'm not one to be excited about getting corn in the ground early, but was hoping to put some oats in. It's wonderful to do that the first week of April here, and hope to do so by the 15th.

Boy, I donno looking at the forecast if April will go at all, and then one starts pushing corn back to get oats in.....

The coop must be pulling hair, once it goes, us farmers with 90,000 acres in this county are all gonna call the same day and want fert applied -now-. My coop has merged up over the years and is in 5-6 counties now, so multiply by 5 or so for them.....

Think it will pay off to have a calm smile this spring. :)

Was up to the local diner today for lunch, and these fools are going nuts because they cant waste money planting corn, I got a flash for them, the way the forecast is looking for next week the tears are going to fly!

We had a non-winter last year and paid for it last year, too. Spring was hot and droughty, maple syrup season was less than a week for many folks, then a hard freeze in late April killed the buds that had gotten excited by the hot weather on all the fruit trees. This year is more like a "normal" spring and I hope it leads to a normal growing season...
