Soybean spacing question

I have always planted soybeans with a drill with 7 inch spacing. I am thinking of plugging every other hole this year which leads me to the question.
Do I need to double the amount of beans per acre or leave the drill set the same?
I was thinking of trying different setups" experimenting" to see if there is a difference in yield.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Need to double the setting. You want a final stand around 150-180,000 seeds per acre.

I have drilled my beans for many years in 7.5" spacing. Last year I purposely planted about 120,000 and got a good stand. The beans were some of the best I've ever had. Beans have an amazing ability to compensate as long as the stand is EVEN. Mike

Mike is spot on the population you will have better luck
getting them up in a 15 inch row.
