Sunflower threshing

I plan to grow lots of sunflowers this year to make birdseed to sell. After the heads have been cut off the stalks, o will dry them. I have been considering ways to remove the seed from the flower, would something along the lines of a drum style chicken plucker work? Maybe an old dryer? I have a fanning mill that I can makeup a screen for to clean it.
Any input is much aprricated.

I have seen several large fields of sunflowers around here. It is no hand operated job, unless you are just growing a few in your garden.

I do not have a Connie at this time. I am talking an acre or two, I don't mind the ideas of hand picking at least for a year. Things were done by hand years ago there's no reason I shoulder put some sweat into harvesting.
