Probably the best cows I have. Decided to try and breed some myself. Bought about 6 milking shorthorn cows and bred them to an angus bull. All I get is black calves. What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts? Thanks

The only blue roan cattle I know of are Belgiun Blue breed. If I recall correctly to get a blue roan cross you want to breed a solid black to a solid white.

Apparently the Angus bull you have is homozygous black. In that case you'll always get a black calf. To get a calf that won't necessarily be black, you need a heterozygous black bull.
