Getting Ready for Spring

Got the TO 30 greased yesterday and put air in a tire a little soft. We're supposed to get some spring thawing weather this next week. Our ground never really froze after the last thaw so I hope to be plowing a small plot for oats soon. Need to grease the disk too.

Saw a bluebird yesterday and expect woodcock and robins back soon too. Rabbits are getting "frisky" and on the move looking for mates. I've seen a few hit on the road. Hang in there; spring is coming!

I know what you mean. Planted corn around March 10th last this year. I have not plowed my cover crop in yet. Ordered 6 bags of op corn back in the fall. Should be here next week. I plan on getting corn in the ground in two weeks if the ground dries out enough to plow.

Where are you located, Bud? Mid SC here and we are discing corn ground in this weekend, but soil temp is a couple of weeks away from 55 degrees, the temperature that corn needs to germinate properly.

i was gonna try in disc in corn stalks this weekend to here in ky, and plant grass in the fild at the end of month.. i just hope i can get the stalks disc in enought to rott

Take this down time to fix that soft tire. It will only get worse and might become a real problem when you need it most.
