buying corn silage

looking at buying some corn silage put up last fall. i have not bunker or pit. not looking at getting much, just enough to help get through spring. if i decide to do this, do i just repack it and cover it or do i need to seal it all over again?

If you're going to get very much at one time,I'd pack it and cover it with plastic again like you would with fresh chopped. Several years ago a guy bought a farm down here and moved his cows, but his feed was still 75 miles or so north of here. He said he could haul corn silage about once a week that winter and it kept alright for that long. Haylage was another story. He said two days on that was about as long as he dared have it just dumped. So,yea,I'd think not more than a week on corn silage without packing and sealing.
