Anyone ever plant sunflowers with a JD 7000 conservation planter. With all the prediction of another drought I think I will do that. I have bean cups. Will they work?

Will the deer eat ALL the small plants?

Gordo;

The deer won't eat all the small plants--they'll wait until they get bigger. Deer love sunflowers!

Milo cups may have to small of a seed notch to let the seed thru. Seems to me anyway.

I have the milo cups, but they appear too small. There might be a teeny tiny sunflower seed out there though. Who might have done this and has a set I could borrow? About 15 acres is all I would plant. In May.

I would try it first you can take one box off and turn it by hand. I would think the finger pickup, for corn would work. Old bean cups should work also. Ours singulate also. Last time I planted Sunflowers we used a 10ft Great Plains drill. Our County ASCS office has a 7ft No-till drill they rent to do this for wildlife plots. Vic
