advice on planting grass seed

got a little ground tore up and ready to plant sun. evening. was going to plant next morning before it rain, did not happen. so i go out inbetween rain and broadcast my k-31 seed.
very little rain after i planted grass, seed is still laying on top of ground.
are there any thing i can do about this?

packer is best without a doubt, failing that, you can simply drive back and forth over it but youll leave it pretty rough..ive in the past got good stands by using a drag if its dry enough.took a stick of 2 3/8 drill stem about ten foot long, welded old tire chains to it that i had laying around. not too awful heavy so it doesnt bury seed too deep.just about anything to get seed to soil contact, with burying seed to deep will work.last year i sowed some ryegrass on top then went in and drilled oats in over it.the drill with heavy drag chains covered enough i got a good stand. normally we plant grass here about dec 1,or real early spring up till about end of april. though ive planted this early if i was going to plow it down as a green manure crop.

I use a rotary hoe, it scratches and levels and covers the seed just a little, I got mine cheap several years back because very few row crop farmers in my area use them anymore, everybody went to no-till. It also works real good to incorporate lime and fertilizer and overseed ryegrass or oats in sod.

I had soft ground on an over-seed recently, so I drug a 16 ft cattle panel sideways behind the seeder. Grass came up good. Was a pasture with cattle and horses so it broke up the manure piles as well.
