Think I'm going to cut hay tomorrow

I think I can get 60-80 bales off 20 acres...if I only cut the thick parts. I"m gonna need all I can get "til I cut in the late spring...if we get any snow or rain next spring!
This year has really been one big PITA from start to finish. Hope Mother Nature treats us all better next year.

I hear ya! I am going to wait a couple of weeks and cut again. We have had a few timely rains and the clover has really bounced back.

If that hay is alfalfa, it is definitely not advisable to cut it this time of year. But I know what you mean by needing the hay.

The alfalfa is 10 years old and pretty thin , and I'm sure I'll loose some of it. but with a pretty good all day rain a few weeks ago the timothy andorchard grass has pushed up enough to rake

Ya I hope the grass/clover grow enough to get another cutting but so far it does not look like it will happen but one never knows what the weather might do. Been getting some rain the last couple days so maybe just maybe I will get lucky and be able to do some more hay. I know If I had hay for sale I could sell it 3 times over. Have 2 or 3 people that keep asking me if I am going to get some more hay
