Vitazyme soil stimulant??

Anyone ever tried or heard of Vitazyme?? A local farmer was telling me about it's supposed qualities. Claims it loosens soil,brings earthworms back and helps plants utilize fertilizer.

There are new snake oils that come around all the time. Some are for real, others are just glorified water.

I wait till the results are proven by some reliable source before I invest my money in them.

It may be a good one but I have never heard of it.

Ask for some test results from a reliable source.

or lime for acid soil, or calcium sulfate(otherwise known as gypsum) for alkaline soil?

Internet search shows it a heavily hyped organic product.

Conventional agriculture is working with more and more similar micro nutrients and soltions that create better bio-activity.

The difference is conventional ag products say you need to be near the top of the heap on yield and soil fertility to begin with, before these add-on products help boost you to the next small level of increased production.

I get real sckeptical of a product that says it's a bandaid for any fertility problem, will help in any situation, and can cut nitrogen needs by 50-70%

That sounds like snake oil to me, tho I have no experience with this product.

I.m not opposed to the organic idea or that such products might be benificial to crops if used properly; but the salesmanship of this product makes me think it will not live up to the claims.

Similar product make very, very small contrubutions to good plant health in the real world, not the wild claims the label makes.

Jim, products like this have been around for a very long time. To me, if they were as successful as they claim they would have taken the farming community by storm by now. Anything that increases yields will naturally loosen soil and help with earthworms due to the higher organic material level. Fertilizer does this..

I find it interesting that so few people understand how greatly
our views on agricultural products are influenced by the media,
especially through information put out by the Land Grant
universities and chemical companies who stand to lose sales if a
product like this really works. I can attest to that fact, since I
have gone through the "system". The proof of any product,
conventional or otherwise, is in field performance, and I frankly
have not seen a product more thoroughly tested and proven than
Vitazyme. The website to Vital Earth has a huge array of trial
results, many from universities, leading me to believe that not all
of these products can be placed in the same basket ... surely not
this one. They even claim to have active agents in the
brassinosteroid class, which makes me want to believe in its
potential even more. That is heading towards true science in my
opinion.
