I have seen twin ears before,how commen is 4 ears coming from one cob?

I have been rasing sweet corn for a lot of years, including over ten years of bi-color. Never have seen that before.I have seen ears coming from the tassels quite frequently, so I believe these things come from hybridization of hi sugar corn.
 
We had a frankencorn last year. Where the two ears should have been, it grew entire new stalks.
