OK now that I started the process two beef producers told me I am wasting my time.Seven days ago we implanded the ciders and the ludylise I gave the second shot of ludlyise and the We will give a shot of gonadorelin hydrochloride at breeding time .So what do you think my success rate should be whats your experiance?

'Gotta give you some static here..........if it's anything like your spelling....your success rate with "insenimation" ain't gonna be good. Maybe that's something new I'm not familiar with. Which end of the cow do you work with for this?
'Just teasing you!

You'll probably do just fine. If you end up with a 65-70% conception rate your first time out of the chute, you've done fine. It get easier with time.

Just curious, are you doing this because you want show calves? as to success rate, use a clean up bull of a different breed and then you will get an accurate figure without losing out on a calf crop.

No I want to tighten up the calving season .I still have 8 cows to calve. Also this will give me some angus calves.I also have a angus/simmital bull .I should be able to tell if he cleaned them up because although he is black he is throwing red calves

Never did it myself, but I was at a meeting that the vet clinic put on. A guy said he had done it for the first time on 24 heifers. Said he ended up with 22 pregnancies out of it. Not a bad average.

145 was for the breeding did not get the vet bill yet for implanting the cider and first round of lutelyse but I think about how cheap it is compared to feeding a bull all year long

Artificial insemination cost 3.50 when I had a lot of cattle.AI was slow to take hold.In the early days you marked the cow, made a phone call and gave your farm number.Farmer was in a hurry to pick up hay and asked his wife to call AI.When he came in for supper his wife said the AI man was here. She said, that fellow cheated you.Theres no way he could have had a bull in that little car.
