7000 Planter Monitor

I recently bought a JD 7000 planter, 4 row narrow. The guy I bought it from had 2 monitors I could choose from, he hadn't used them and didn't know about them. A normal with just the 4 lights, and an M2000 with 4 lights and seed population/acre counter, which was in better looking shape. My planter has only 5 prongs on the harness, and the M2000 monitor has 6 slots. It plugs in fine, just an extra slot where the acre counter wheel set up would plug in. Will the M2000 basic seed drop lights work without having the acre counter/population set up. I'm going to send one to be calibrated and checked out, but want to make sure the M2000 will work for me before I do.

I have a 6 row and after a little whoops where I mixed up the driver and the driven I am seriously thinking about putting on a monitor with population. (I seeded 36,000 instead of 22,000). Thats an expensive mistake with seed corn. I think the population monitor would be worth the money to have working correctly. Just my opinion.

I am guessing the M2000 was made by Dickey-John. On their website you will find reference to a djpm-2000 if you click on the support tab. You can download a manual to see if the unit pictured looks like the one you have.

If you click on the Distributor locater you will find a toll-free number to call them with your questions.
