Your Tractors at work

I like seeing the older tractors at work, doing useful things around the farm. I thought a thread could be started to post pictures of them working and the like.
I would post first, but that would involve having to find some pictures.......

ok guys- let's see 'em!

Here is a picture of my old 500 earning it's keep. It gripes my Brother when I drag the old 8350 drill out and drag it around, but it is a great feeling in the fall, with the cooler air, eatin' the dust, and enjoying life. Bob

All of these tractors are "working" tractors on our farm.

Here"s my favorite Ford tractor.

Used it this morning to "bush hog" along the fence.

Not tractor at work - but work in progress!

Letting Dotter learn the shift pattern, clutch, hand throttle and 2 brakes while she was chewing gum and her hair was in the way - WAS WORK!

Just wondering how often James goes for the hand clutch on that one and flips the bale over his head?

Like I said - Just wondering.

Don`t have any good pics of the 8N or the 430 handy, but these are our main beasts of burden. The truck counts because they tested them at Nebraska :)

Haven't flipped a bale yet, but did stick the forks in the ground a couple of times trying to scoop up a bale "on the run".

Practice, practice, practice.

These are not the oldest tractor"s I use, but are used the most. 1967 4020 Standard with GB loader and 1967 5020 Standard taking out a tree stump. Same 4020 with JD 858A raking oats.

Here is my 1951 Case SC with a Case 101 trip bucket loader moving some rocks over 4th of July weekend.

And here I am in December of '86 using dads long gone DC and what I think was a Stanhoist loader.

And this was about July or early August of '83, looks like second crop alfalfa. MM "R" we called "Sam", an Allis 303 baler, and a small rack on a running gear constructed of '37-'39 Ford axles and hubs. Still have the running gear.

That is a Gehl and I love the rake. I bought it new back in the early 90's and it has been the best rake I have owned. The newer style bi-fold rakes have alot of improvements like the Khuns. Gehl does not make them anymore.

Here is my Long 900 with a JD 18ft disk, Dad with my 1550 Oliver diesel with 14ft MM disk and drag, 930CK with 14ft IH vibra-chisle. Me and dad like to think we are color blind when it comes to tractors. Bandit

" Walter " my '37 A and 4B plow. First time working together. Found out coulters need adjusted a little and clutch discs and springs need replaced. Otherwise did pretty good job on 25+ yr sod.

Well the caption didn't come through so I'll put it here. This is my '59 971D fuel sipper. It rakes about 100 acres a year on about 40 gallons. It is on the JD 640, which I know doesn't work but I still drag it around the field and the hay ends up in windrows. Must be some body follows me around when I'm not looking with one of the new rotary types LOL. A friend lives across the road and took the pic and sent it to me.

Well, it weren't me with my rotary rake! I haven't been east of the Merrimack River with it! LOL

Please explain that baling pattern to me. I don't believe I've seen it done that way before.

Kinda looks like long straight windrows with no headlands and wide spacing, something we don't see too often! LOL! Just pick one and go!
JMHO, Dave

Looks like baling around here, especially when cut with a mower and raked seperate (no moco). How many headlands does a guy need, it's just a place to turn back for the next windrow.

[i:9c080e6506]Just pick one and go[/i:9c080e6506] is close, usually leaving a couple in between so you don't have to turn too short is the idea. Once you get going, the pattern just hopscothes itself until the field is done.
