Did you see if he has been using a Recon? Looks like we may have a three day window next week. That should be good foe a couple hundred bales rained on.

Heard he was thinking about one, but don't know if he made the move or not!

Edit: Talked with Billy this afternoon, and he did get a Recon last fall. Said he hadn't used it a great lot, but figured it did a good job! Asked him how long after the discbine he ran it, and he said "immediately" because he wants to get the stuff tedded out ASAP. Said he's running it with a JD (what else?) 2555 and does not want for power in 6th gear!

The piece thats heading out he cut around May 8th and put in the bunker! Said it was pretty light then, but he needed to get started!

On another note Excalibur Farm, Groton MA bought a Macerator a year ago! I talked to John about it, and he was pleased with the job it was doing. He was running it about 3-4 hrs behind the discbine! They are set up to put up a mess of hay in a hurry! John, Laurie and one hired hand put away 5500 bales in 3 days last summer. 3 JD tractors, 1 JD 3 meter discbine, 1 Macerator, 1 Kuhn 6 star tedder, 1 Kuhn double rotor rake, 2 JD 348 balers with 1/4 turn chutes, & 1 NH self propelled Auto Bale Wagon (160 bales per load)

Warren, What part of Brookline? Linda and I were born and raised in Hollis. We just moved to New Boston 10 years ago to be caregivers for her folks. I still farm in Hollis.

Hi Dave,

I had a house on West Hill Rd. on the south end of town bordering MA. Lived there for thirteen years, seven years of that I actually lived in my tractor/trailer wandering around the country and southern Canada. I grew up in Amherst, still have a lot of relatives in Hollis.

Okay, got that figured out! How's Dad doing out to NY? You probably heard that Stan G passed away! I guess the last time I saw you was when I got your Dad's old hay trailers!

Hi Dave,

Took a while to get back to you. I talked with my father yesterday, he would like to call you if that is alright. He asked me to get your phone number and a good time to call. My search tells me that your number ends with 514. Is that okay? Our time is one hour earlier than yours, he wanted me to include that. I kind of wish I was back up there when, like now, the temperature has been in the mid to high 90's for the last two weeks and is supposed to get warmer in the next week.

Warren

Mornin Warren,
Our # ends with 3640, 5514 is MIL's! It takes Verizon/Fairpoint a while to catch up! After all its only been 8 or 9 years! Don't have any idea what hours your Dad keeps, but the best time to catch me is between 7:00 and 9:00 in the morning. Oh yeah, 2 more deaths of people you may have known --- Jim Brist--, & Carroll Spau-----!

Afternoon,

Dad is here in central TN now, Thursday he got admitted into local hospital for a series of tests to figure out what might be wrong with his 91 year old body. Anyway his awake hours are changed due to noisey surroundings and being bothered by medical people. He usually is up at 7 am your time, but now he is at the mercy of the hospital staff. I'll pass on the information the next time I see him.

I read about Jim's death in the Cabinet online, I hadn't heard about Carroll.

Thanks,
Warren
