Bale unroller

I need to get one of these, what should I expect to pay? It does not need to be anything fancy.

Mine would be worth about 1200.

My bull just loves to unroll those. He rolls them out in front of him like a carpet. It's kinda fun to watch. He's done it for years, when he gets a chance.

I have to be careful where I drop one, as he will run it over a fence if that is where I have it aimed.

I want this to unroll big bales to bale into small squares, do you have any experience with this Paul?

Nope. My fella would probably make quite a mess of that then. :)

I've heard of it, but no experience with it.

I've hand unrolled a few to do small squares. One of the biggest problems is the square baler may jerk a big wad in at once and sheer bolts or plug it up.

unless you have a way to get them to unroll consistantly and not too thick, you'll have problems.

Also the round bales need to be dry and not stored outside. get some that is wet and you might burn a barn down if there is too much moisture in the small squares afterwards.

My neighbor has a 3pt model bale un-roller that has a hyd cylinder that clamp sides of bale. He un-rolls then sq bales and sells them. Another neighbor had a un-roller that had a table for bale to sit on and a conveyor to feed sq baler. I'm sure it was pricey.

I hand unrolled a few small rolls and then hand rolled them back up. Whew, what a job. I did it to make a large mulch/compost pile quickley.

My partner and I have patent pending on the one pictured. We are still working out the pricing (getting our parts suppliers lined up). We just recently got our production shop set up and should be producing within a few months. It works great. I"ve been using one for about 4 years now. I bale everything into rounds, then during the winter I make small squares "on demand". It sets in front of your square baler and runs off of the hydraulic remotes of the tractor running the baler. The speed of the unrolling round bale is adjustable so that you can imitate ground speed right for the amount of hay being fed. I make 4X4 rounds and can unroll and rebale one in about ten minutes. Drop me an email if you would like to see more pics and more info. We also have a model that has its" own power supply.

i hope you fellows remember that ih had one and it killed some people. they sent factory reps down to my dealer and they cut them up for scrap iron and cut it in such short pieces no one would take the time to weld it back up. if you could figure out how to power it a set of rollers like used in grocery stores to unload trucks, but only larger might work for you. i had some horse people who wanted hay in a roll. they put it in a corner of their barn and put up boards to keep the horses from walking on it and just let them eat it that way.

This could work- combine final drive driven by a hyd motor- mount on the three point hitch, have two stabbers on a ring bolted to the drive hub. Unrolls as you drive forward- control direction of the unroller hydraulically. Follow that windrow with the baler. Parked, it could feed into a conveyor going to the baler.

I don't have a video at the moment, but the wife and I were just talking about doing that a few weeks ago. I'll try to get busy on it and get it posted as soon as I can. One of the nice things about the one we make is that it is multi-purpose. You can set it stationary in front of a square baler, or hook it behind the tractor and unroll onto the ground for feeding, landscaping, or erosion control. Thanks for your interest!
