Milorganite

Hey folks, any safety concerns when using 5-2-0 Milorganite fertilizers in a vegetable garden? The barns cats do go in the garden, will it cause them to get sick? Do I have to wait to eat the vegetables? Will it damage the vegetables if it contacts them?
