Overseeding Oats with a conventional grain drill

If I use a conventional grain drill (van brunt fb) while the ground is soft in the spring, can I no-till oats into my weak alfalfa stand?

I did it last year with an FB with the lightest pressure I could get and drug a light chain behind it for cover up, it worked great!

Yes. First cutting should be fair alfalfa, then the 2nd cutting the oats will really help out. If that happens before it tries to head, it may try to grow in a little bit for the 3rd cutting too.

Let me get this right. You can overseed oats into existing alfalfa with no ill effects? I thought it was done on initial seeding of field? But if this can be done ok I think I'll try this too. thanks. trgWY
