This year I did something wrong and cant figure out what. Last year for the 1st time I planted Purple Hull's and they came up great so this year I planted a heap of them. This year tho, the pods are not filling out and the pod has already turned purple and drying without peas in them. Ph good, fertilized and watered them .....Ideas?

I never fertilize mine and they always do real good. My Dad always said plant them on the worst ground you have. They produce nitrogen, so they don't need fertilizer.
I knew some 2 brothers that were farmers up in their 80's, they said they would plant peas on the same ground 3 or 4 years straight, then plant corn the 5th year without fertilizer, because the peas put so much in the ground.
I have never dealt with the pollination factor, we seem to have plenty of bees here.
Hope this helps.
