floor for manure spreader

What if you use marine plywood? Anything should be good though unless you are leaving poop in it all the time and leaving it out in the weather.......

..you're talking about the "plastic deck boards"? All the mennonites use that when they redo a spreader, lasts forever, going to do that with mine when I get around to it

Marine grade would work; was factory on spreaders
for years from some makers. Plastic is better
though- doesn't swell or rot (we haul every day,
so our spreader almost never gets dried out... or
washed), and takes less power to run the apron.
Also lets the apron last longer. We averaged 5
years per apron in the last 3 spreaders with
wood/plywood floors. The two spreaders we've had
with plastic floors have averaged 9+ years per
apron.
Another advantage is that the manure is much less
likely to freeze to the floor, though this isn't
something everyone has to worry about.
Some companies make sheets to let you line the
existing floor. Osseo Plastics (in Osseo, WI)is
one that goes that route.

Why not just use nominal 1" pine boards. That's all I've ever used. Periodically I paint them (top only) with burned (used) motor oil. They'll last forever (I've got one in my manure spreader graveyard that has been in the weather for 25+ years with no rot), the initial replacement cost is practically nil and burned motor oil is free...and it lubricates the chain while you're painting the floor.
