Is there any special recipes for a head cold?

What is the best way to unplug the nasal passages, other then Nyquil.

Fill me in on any recipes that you have?

ABSOLUTE best thing I've ever found to treat head cold symptons is Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Phormula; symptoms go away and no side ephphects.

Combine equal parts honey, lemon juice, Jack Daniels (favorite whiskey?) and vinegar - 1 1/2 to 2 oz combined. Heat in microwave (not too hot) and drink it in sips a few seconds apart. It's actually a sore throat remedy (the vinegar kills bacteria) but has always cleared my sinus passages right out!

Hello gun guru,
One glass of red wine, one shot of whiskey, one slice of lemon peel and one teaspoon of sugar.
Warm the mix up to the temperature of coffee.
Sit on the side of the bed, remove lemon peel, drink it as hot as you can stand it, all at once!
You may have to pinch your nose first.
Get into bed, cover up and stay covered.
You will sweat the bad stuff right out!
If it is a BAD ONE, two shots of whiskey instead of one. It works for me. Only one time I had to repeat the mix a second night.
Take it at your own risk....... no guarantees!!!
Guido.

Must be going around, I have had the crap since Monday. I have been talking Nycol at night and when I get home from work Take Thera flu severe cold and cough formulaAlso my mother in law made a trip to Mexico and gave Me some Penicillin she got down there. Been working 12 hour days and its been one miserable week. Don't overdose on the nyQuil

Never tried it with vinegar or heated it. A neighbor who was a Navy medic told me burbon, honey and lemon. Takes a little bit of effort to get the honey to disolve, but keep stiring,it's worth it.

For cloggy sinuses that just won't go away after a few days I snort salt water. Works pretty dang well.
Alca-seltser Plus when you are really sick!

Thanks, I did the Lemon juice, Jack daniels, and honey, only about 4 sips. I also had some chips and salsa. (we will see)
thanks to all for the info.
I have Nyquil but that knocks me on my azz and I have run machine tool equipment at 5am tomorrow.

I usually drink between 4 to 6 fingers of Seagrams VO. It doesn't seem to eliminate the symptoms but by the time I'm done I don't care anymore.

I put a hot wash cloth on my chest to open up the poors and grease my chest with BENGAY. Then I wipe my hands on a paper towel and use that as an inhaler. Keeps my nose opened up and I sleep like a baby. Couple nights and I'm as good as new. Been doing this since I was a kid.

I do not remember the last time I had a cold. The key is the fact I eat a lot of hot peepers in a number of ways. Garlic and onions also help. If you can not handle eating Jalapeno peppers as they are pr pickled find some one with Jalapeno jelly and eat t and the cold will go bye bye

Humidifier and orange juice helps.

Ibuprofen to numb the symptoms/fever, but other than that I don't think any other drugs help much. Antihistamines just seem to make me sicker in the long run.

I'm with Thurlow and Uncle Eunice. Snort salt water to clear out so you get better, and Alka seltzer plus cold so that you can keep working.

Down 'here' in redneck country, we've got a pretty much unlimited supply of letters.........I assume since we're barely literate. My ole buddy/mentor, Bill (Wis) has told us numerous times that 'they' often run short of some letters......the letter 'f' being the one thay usually run out of. He often encourages all YT posters to use 'ph' instead. About once every 2 weeks, I mail the 'f's I've saved to him. He hasn't been around in a while; anybody heard from him?

Most days the past couple years, I have been able to swim laps. This causes me to require deep breaths and I just do not get colds anymore, where I did before. Any regular exercise that causes you to do deep breathing for twenty minuets or so may prevent your having colds. Works for me, post triple bypass.

I just got thru with a nasty cold. Doc told me to get Mucinex (sp?) and they work good. I got it in tablet form. Just use it per directions.
