Just came in from the barn to check prices. Wow, wasnt more than a couple weeks ago and I sold som e'11 corn and was hind sighting that I'd sold more. Wonder when the next updrive will happen?? As spring flooding peaks? Also, Prayers out to all them poor people in Japan. Unimaginable.

With cash corn down to $6.00 from $7.00, the icing is just a little thinner on the cake, so to speak. Just talked to a farmer who locked in some $3.40 for 2010 fall delivery. He's delivering the rest of it now. I have a little corn left to sell for cash and I was waiting for $7.00. Well, it hit $7.00, so did I sell? NO! I got smart and waited for $7.08 so I could pay for the trucking and net $7.00. Never made it! The livestock producers should have a little time to breathe now.

We don't have much to worry about in our own lives when we look at Japan. The ones who survived the quake and the water now have to worry about being nuked.

On the bright side,I just checked DTN and Brent Crude is down $5.22. I see live cattle futures are down $3 across the board, but with that said, last week at the local auction barn, choice steers were $100 to 113.50. Yesterday they were 105 to 118.50. I won't have the check for yesterdays load til tomorrow, but it looks pretty promising to me. As long as the cash market's that high,I'm gonna keep right on hauling.

Yes, and GE stock is gonna take a blow as they helped design the nuclear plant that posed a meltdown. Dosent mean they caused it. I guess there is a flaw in the slaw.
