Hi Lou and Victor.Awhile back you talked of a homemade cab on your 706,I jus watched the video you posted of it.Nice looking outfit. My question:did you make the cab?was it hard to do?Can you post some more pictures, inside and outside?Since I cant seem to find a cab(must be side entry because of 3pt hitch)to fit/adapt to my SuperM,I may have to make my own.Thank you,Steve

This a picture of a 560 that I played with a few years ago...The tractor was junk,the (Ansel)cab was from my 706turbo.The 706 got a"new" cab(Ansel'Ace of Diamonds)from a 1130 Massey.

DeltaRed: When you had that cab on the 560 did you figure a way to open the battery box wings to get to the batteries? Thank you for any ideas you can provide Armand

Looks like those recaped tires are starting to come apart on the old girl. How old are they? there used to be a recapper here that did tractor tires, but most farm tires were cut and gashed before the tread was gone.

20 yrs ago,my brother had a 560 with an Oliver cab.If memory serves me,thewing tabs were trimed/removed so the wings could be slid from under the windshield--I think the side/front windows may have been hinged. As you can see this project was not continued/finished as the tractor had MULTIPLE problems and was sold. The cab was later sold at the local consignment sale(it only brought 2$)--Ishould have kept it,it would probabaly work on theSM.

Those tires are Havvest King, they were purchased new in'83.Just last week, they were replaced with a BRAND NEW! pair of Firestone 'Traction Field and Road'(13.6x38 6ply)at $580.00each!OUCH!

Steve> Thanks for the inquiry. We hunted a cab for the 706 with out any luck. Found a cab from???? what ever over in North Dakota. Took a day and drove over to the dealer who had it laying apart in a heap.Parts missing and was basically a bunch of sheet metal with doors??And tin riveted to the whole carcass. All the glass was there, but the rubber seals were shot around glass openings. Brought it home and disassembled what was riveted together.Started working on making panels. The back panel(original) was home made and cobbled then riveted together. That we made new. Front panel that covered the hood was missing, so we template d a cardboard pattern and cut out a formed panel from the template.Next we made a battery set back (part way back inside the cab)that was sealed from the interior of the cab.
Made a series of floor panels (templated then cut out new sheet metal)sealed around edges, riveted to the cab frame. Last piece that was mad from a template was the cab visor. Steps were made along with the loader valve plate. Re-worked the window hinge assemblies. Made new lock knobs for the window frames.added a new cab heater and have the new fan here (but not yet installed) along with us doing the upholstery. I am sure some of this information may be of help but knowing your work (pictures you showed) if it is at all possible, you can template each and every cab part necessary to seal out the weather. The only part we didn't manufacture was the door frame and the roof. The rest we made. We even went to the expense of re-tubing the Swartz loader arm with Stainless steel, tube /fittings and a bending tool line holder blocks ,new hoses etc. We are delighted to share what information we have on the 706.We even made our Slow moving vehicle sign for the back of the cab (matter of fact we made 2 of em . Here are the pictures. Warmest Regards LOU & VICTOR.
