Using Classic view

I've always used the classic view and have a tip for ya'll.
After opening up a thread and reading all the posts you want to go back to the forum. Don't use the"return to forum" box (with the mouse).
That will result in you being taken back to the very first post of that forum.
Instead, use your "backspace" key. This will take you back to the forum at the palce you were.

Correct, I assume you mean the left arrow with the mouse, at least with IE. With IE, if you have replied to a post and submitted it, the arrow backs you up through what you have just typed, otherwise the arrow works fine. If you are using something else, then things might be different.

I use Firefox, and after selecting the forum, I go thru the postings right clicking on the ones I want to read, and select OPEN IN NEW TAB which saves each post in the tabs bar, then I read one click the X and the next one replaces the one I just finished reading. This works very well if you don't have high speed internet. By the time you finish reading the first selected post the next one is loaded and ready to read.

I use firefox too when done reading a topic I just left click and choose "back"

also to scroll I uses push the center wheel till funny looking circle shows up release mouse button / wheel and slide mouse in direction I need .

Works great for those panorama postings that sometimes appear.

If you old goats would ever click on modern view and come on line with 2011, you'd be in a whole new world............

(quoted from post at 15:19:02 02/18/11) Hey, I,m only 37. Whats modern view?

Top right corner. Click it and be free. No more digging thru pages of stuff. Whenever there is activity in a thread it moves to the top. They stopped making Model T's for a reason........

(quoted from post at 15:24:53 02/18/11) dave , i like old tractors ......and.......classic view!!!! i think they kinda go together

Kinda like having a new motorboat and using paddles...........

Whatever blows up your skirt.........

I've seen a few, "how old are you" threads and I believe that the "old goats" are the majority here.
We just might start signing in in chronological old goat order , ie OldGoat40 for my age.

Old Goats RULE!

Proud user of classic and born on Valentines Day 1949. I occasionally go over to modern to lurk a bit, but 98% classic. Why because I like it. It serves to keep the order of the contributions in temporal order and sequenced as to which comment is applied to which post within a thread. If I am interested, I go back to find the post. Jim
