To Dave 2. Have you tried any local truck stops? or any truck supply shops. These straps are used on semi's and are a better quality. Never over stretch.

Keep in mind that he's in GERMANY. Products that are in common use here in the States aren't necessarily available in Germany.

Thanks! pretty expensive and not exactly the same here. Just ordered a box of 50 from the States though.

I've just sent off an email to a local company called:
Premier Products of Braham,MN.
They make various rubber products.
I've bought real rubber bungee cords from them over 20 years ago and I'm still using the same ones on my tractor chains without a single one failing in any temp after all these years!
I tend to lose (misplace) them faster than ever having one fail. I'd bought some other -none USA made rubber bungees at the same time and most I got out of them was two years -stretched in the cold, most were broken by spring!

This is kind of a funny deal to me. For years (and more years) I've spotted them laying along the roads as truckers don't make sure they won't fly off their loads. I always stop and pick them up...must have about 50 of them by now. Most of them are perfect, sometimes even new. Crazy habit, but sure is fun.
