Collector Tractors

Of all the makes and models of "newer" tractors built in the last 30 years, I'm wondering which of them will become the most desirable for collectors, shows, and parades in perhaps 30 to 40 years from now.

The same question can be asked about cars built in the last 30 years. Other than muscle cars like corvettes and mustangs, is anything "newer" going to be worth keeping for collector value and taking to car shows? I can't imagine too many prople wanting to show off a Ford Escort in 30-40 years. Hummers maybe.

Well It's a safe bet that whatever I have won't be collectable. So start out by not getting what I have. LOL

I don't know about 30-40 years from now.All the new tractors I see have so much plastic for body work do you honestly think that that will survive the decades to come? Then the predicted Ice age starting in 2032 will people be worrying about old tractors if they even understand what a tractor is. I,myself when attending a tractor event get all teary eyed when I hear a Detroit powered Oliver Super 99 coming.

I am not a big John Deere fan, mostly because I can't afford them, but it seems low houred clean 30,40, and 50 series Deeres with sound guard cabs will top any market anywhere they are sold. Except for the 50 series they don't have electronics and very little plastic, so my opinion they are going to stand the test of time. For a little older machine, the 856, 1206 IH seem to be gaining in popularity and value also, they seem to bring as much as the 66 series IH's do. As far as molines, the two hottest models seem to be the UDLX as it has been for some time and the G1000 FWA. Both made in low numbers and bringing big dollars.

Don't think any of the newer tractors will ever fall into that category. Planned obsolescence is built into these machines. Where are you going to get computer parts in 25 years. I'm afraid that parts will not be available.
