asked the fellow at metals side what was the oddest thing someone has brought in and said a guy brought in a copper urn. Said he was tired of his late wife sitting around doing nothing, so he poured the ashes out and brought the urn. He said the fellow also said that it was going to be the best/last supper his wife provided yet. I thought he was pulling my leg until he showed me a pic of the fellow with the urn on the scale. My wife didn't like the story to much so I thought someone else may.

Must've been a lot of love between them 2!

I can't figure out why anyone would keep an urn with burned remains of a person in their house to start with?

I always found it a bit morbid when someone pointed to a urn and said "thats my mom or dad",or who ever.

Have you checked for all the farm equipment? I"m picking up plow points, cultivator feet, old implements and things like that for 30 cents a pound. I just can"t see melting these things down for a dime a pound. That"s what the the salvage company here pays for it and will let you look through it, see something you want, 30 cents a pound.

I always tell them put my ashes in a coffee can, and when the weather straightens out, take the post auger and dig a hole in my cemetary space and drop me in. Sounds pretty simple to me if they can find anyone that knows how to run a hand auger.

When a man in our local town died his wife had him cremated and she kept his ashes on the mantle. She said she put it there so she could keep an eye on him. Jim

You got a niche in the market man.
may as well auger a 12' deep hole and plant people up right.would save a lot of cemetery space.LOL

I had a mother inlaw. Who kept her daughter in a Urn. On top the TV with pictures of her on either side of it. Along with candles all around and some of her trinks the girl own. Was errie setting there looking at her that and trying to watch TV. I never did it long for I got up and left.

A cemetary employee called in to our local talk radio show last week. He said the bad economy is causing more and more folks to use cremation, instead of burial. He said that their business is way down at the cemetary, both in selling lots, and opening graves.

My Ex was going to have me cremated, and put me on the shelf in the living room . I told her the only reason she would do that was because she would dump me out once in awhile just to rum me through the cleaner again .
