Now here is a thought!

I think it will, at some point. I think it is self contained in the body, so I don't think it will freeze.

good for summer and it better be flat ground under the car or the door will self destruct, im thinking, one thing on this i saw yesterday on some barrett jackson rerun was some kind of early 50's rare model where the door slid foward, into the front fender, like a pocket door in a house, other than having to make fenders on cars as long as they used to be , i wonder why that never caught on, with todays parking spaces marked like everybody owns a toyota, that would be real handy to have

That was the Kaiser Darrin- a 2 seater sports car, and the sliding doors were its claim to fame. Powered by an anemic Continental flathead 6, that would barely pull the hat off your head. Never caught on, because folks had the idea that a sports car should go from 0 to 60 before next Tuesday.

I can see all sorts of problems as it aged. Interesting idea anyway... Not sure I would want to rely on Lucas electrics to close the doors of my car though.
